Brown McKee, Inc. of Lubbock, Texas is seeking 4 temporary, full-time construction laborers to work on Hwy 180, 13 miles east from TX-137 near Lamesa, TX and in Dawson, Gaines, Yoakum, Terry, Lynn, Cochran, Hockley, Lubbock, Lamb, Hale, Floyd, Crosby, Kent, Scurry, Fisher, Nolan, Mitchell, Sterling, Garza, Borden, Howard, Martin, Andrews, Glasscock, Midland, and Ector Counties in Texas and in Lea County in New Mexico from 04/01/2024 to 11/30/2024 for $20.08/hour. Applicants may be offered higher than the advertised wage rate due to experience or merit.

Duties include: Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Load and unload building materials, machinery and tools. Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Smooth or finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools. Position join, align, or seal structural components, such as concrete sections or pipes. Frame and erect metal buildings. Assist other craftworkers with pipe and pump installation. Clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials. May operate hand and power tools of all types. No minimum education or experience required. On-the-job training will be provided. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs 75 yds. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, administered to both U.S. and H-2B workers. Workdays are Monday-Friday, some Saturdays. Hours are 7:00AM-5:00PM, with up to 10 hours of overtime which may be available but is not guaranteed. Overtime rate is $30.12. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due and pay weekly by direct deposit. If worker does not have a direct deposit account, the worker will receive a check only during the first 30 days of employment to allow the worker time to set up or have direct deposit activated.

The employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck as required by law. Any advances will be deducted with the consent of the employee. The employer will assist workers in finding housing. The worker will be reimbursed for transportation and subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment, in the first workweek at a rate of a minimum of $15.88 per day to a maximum of $59.00 per day with documentation of actual expenses. The employer will provide or pay for the worker’s cost of return transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker, disregarding intervening employment, departed to work for the employer, if the worker completes the certified period of employment or is dismissed before 11/30/2024.

The employer will provide daily transportation to and from the worksite. The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but need not include passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). The employer will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned.
